Dr. Jerry Browne received a Bachelors and Masters degree from the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy in 1979 and 1982, respectively. After completing his undergraduate studies he worked for several years in the Indian Health Service located on the Zuni Indian Reservation in Zuni New Mexico. On completion of his graduate study he was employed as assistant and associate professor of pharmacy and medicine at the University of the Pacific, University of Iowa and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his medical training and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1992. He has been board certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Browne has worked primarily in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care for the last 25 years. He and his wife Sharon have been part time residents of Madeline Island since 2000 and have made the island their primary residence starting in 2018. Hobbies they enjoy include bicycle touring and sea kayaking. Over the last 40 years they have logged in excess of 100,000 miles bicycle touring in North America, Mexico, and Europe. In addition they have enjoyed sea kayaking primarily on Lake Superior.
I look forward to becoming part of the clinic and getting to know the people and community on Madeline Island.
